Pha-ngan Island:
This popular 191 square kilometre island is situated 20 km. north of Samui island or 100 km. from Suratthani. The island, part of the Khao Luang range which raises above sea level has fertile forest, many waterfalls, powdery beaches and a peaceful atmosphere. The surrounding sea shelters many aquatic animals and coral reefs. Local communities still make their living on fishing and coconut farming.
