Krabi Boek Fah Andaman Festival:
This festival takes place in November and celebrates the opening of the tourist season in Krabi. The festival features parades, local product contests, sea kayak competitions and boat races.
The setting Adrift of the Chao Ley Boats:
Takes place on Lanta Islands during full moon of the sixth and eleventh month in the lunar calendar. This is religious rite performed by Sea Gypsies who gather on the beach near Ban Saladan Village. They dance their famous Rong Geng round the boats to be set adrift. Ceremonies feature signing and dancing; the reson for the fest is to bring properity and happiness to the participants, it is something hard to find elsewhere.
Laanta Lanta Festival:
This festival takes place on December of every year in Phra Ae Beach. Lanta Island has cultural shows by Thas Muslim local food, life Style and interesting ceremonies.
Souvenirs and Local Products:
Bird cages and mats made from Toei Panan (pandanus trees) are sold in shops on Uttarakit Rd., in Krabi Town. Preserved seafood products such as shrimp paste, dried fish and shrimp, and Shogun oranges are also available. Shops in most tourist areas sell batik with various designs and colours.
